Since the school was founded, Fredericktown has excelled in athletics. Over the years, the football, basketball, baseball, softball, track, cross country, wrestling and volleyball teams have performed consistently well.

Dozens of Freddie athletes have been inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame, including NFL player Ollie Cline, NCAA All-American Don Smith and the youngest inductee, basketball player Ryan Logan, who played professionally in Europe for several years.
Basketball player Cally Carpenter broke the girls’ school record for most points in a career in early 2024. She then also had the game-winning shot in the same contest
